Part One…

I know that prices in general have increased exponentially, on everything including metal detecting accessories, but now this, has been brought home to me & instead of looking at the prices, and not thinking about them, i was now looking at them to make a purchase…
It was after returning from a fossil hunt, i sat down to look for another cheap finds bag & a simple but dedicated box for putting fragile fossils in, it seems the cost of the simplest metal detecting accessory has spiraled. These finds’ boxes are upwards of fifteen pounds with postage, & the shoulder bags were not far behind them & rising to thirty pounds…

Luckily i managed to find the bag at eight pounds thirty nine pence ( £ 8.39p on Ebay) & for just under nine pounds, i was not holding out much hope of it being any good, on its arrival from the naton selling cheap goods and over a thousand miles away, it arrived a week earlier than forecast, & i was pleasintly surprised to find that upon arrival this was a good weight & not flimsy at all, & on the plus side the interior has a waterproof coating, this lining might not last long as it is coated plastic, but, so was my backpack which lasted five years before deteriorating, so i’m not too worried about that, as the bag is strong enough to still be capable of doing its job, another thoughtful touch is, all the zips have large zip-pull-tags so its easy to open & pull closed with gloves on…
It has a large zipped pocket at the top with three internal pockets, which makes up a total of four separate pockets with a smaller zipped pocket just down from that and an ideal smaller zipped pocket near the D-Ring. This smaller pocket is just the right size to hold an emergency first aid kit, credit card, cash & car keys…
With my new finds pouch the main critera is that it would have to go over my shoulder, & not around my waist, so far the finds bag is the winner here, i can still put a pulse probe in the dedicated loop, & attach another loop onto the strap at the back of the bag for a micro mattock, & it will all fit, crossed over my body & onto my shoulder, & with the spare strap attached to the finds pouch i can attatch the bag via this strap to one of my belt loops to stop the bag swinging forward everytime i bend down…
